Spring 2013 Beauty Trends...

Posted by DJS Events

Wondering how you should do your hair and makeup for spring 2013? From bold brows to bright lips, this spring is all about making a statement, whether it is neutral or over-the-top.

Take a look at spring's top beauty trends:

LIPS

Pick a bright and beautiful hue in a matte texture for the perfect statement lip. From fiery orange and fuscia to coral pink, the choice is yours so have some fun with it!

EYES

Shadows and Liners

Bright and colorful! While bold eye shadows can seem intimidating, they're definitely wearable. Try adding a pop of color with a gorgeous blue eyeliner or a jewel toned eyeshadow.

Bold Brows and Lush Lashes

There is a big emphasis on bold brows and naturally full and plump lashes. So put your tweezers down and for starters try a brow wax kit that can naturally mimic the natural color of your eyebrow by filling it in to create a defined look. Mascaras should be able to naturally enhance your eyelashes with a non-clumping, voluminous formula.

FRESH FACES

The key to wearing bold colors on your eyes and lips is by keeping the rest of your face fresh and natural. Start with a primer that will give you a radiant, subtle glow, then choose between a beauty balm (for a lighter coverage) or illuminating foundation (for full coverage). Finish the look by sweeping on a rosy peach blush.

NAILS

This season is geared towards the neutral nail and a pop of graphic art. Choose from wearing a nude hue on all of your nails with the current trend of one "party" nail (ex. Deborah Lippman or Julep ) or go for the design strips from Essie or Sephora.

HAIR

Tousled waves, braids and low ponytails contribute to the undone, low-maintenance look for this Spring's hair trend. Sleek, middle parts were all over the runways, which can be recreated by using straight blow dry cream and a hair straightener.  For beachy, tousled waves try the beachwaver and hair wax to keep it in place. No matter the hairstyle, add a fun accessory such as a crystal headband.
