It can certainly be difficult to pick out the perfect gift
for the special men in your life, whether it is your father, grandfather,
husband, or a great friend. We customized a gift guide to make your life a bit easier!
FOR THE ENTERTAINER:
For the guy who is obsessed with grilling on the bbq and drinking beer, especially in the summer. He most likely does not have any of the gift options above, including the electric fire starter that is great for traveling. A new set of BBQ tools is always great, and who wouldn't love a beer making kit that can be served on the beer tasting flight?
FOR THE ALL-STAR:
Add some style to his workout or travel adventure. From neon running shoes, waterproof headphones and underwater camera to a luxe baseball glove. The options are endless, so add some excitement to his already active lifestyle.
FOR THE STYLISH:
Some men just love the finer things in life. They may even have it all, but here's a few great options. You can't go wrong with a super sleek watch or money clip. If you want to get creative, go for the whiskey tasting box or an online personal shopping company, Trunk Club, that will deliver an assortment of mens clothing handpicked by a personal stylist. The best part is that if the clothes do not fit, they can be sent back free of charge!
FOR THE PAMPERED ONE:
Its not just us women who like to hoard tons of skincare and grooming products, many men out there do the same. So make them happy by giving them a luxe kit by L'Occataine or a monthly Birchbox subscription to various grooming and lifestyle products. If they like a bit of everything, then opt for the Mack Weldon men's essentials deluxe kit, which comes with both clothing and grooming items.
FOR THE TECH-OBSESSED:
The above finds are great gifts for those who travel frequently or just love gadgets. The iDapt universal charging station that can charge up to 4 devices at once and the Slingbox which can be used to remotely watch your television from home by hooking it up to computer, tablet or smartphone. The "magic cube" keyboard uses a laser beam to create a full-size keyboard that can appear on any type of flat service...very cool. Finally, we all know "that" guy who tends to misplace his devices, so why not help him save time and stress with the GPS mobile device tracking system.
FOR THE ADVENTUROUS:
It doesn't matter how old you are if you are someone that loves adventure. From hang gliding and soaring through the air with a certified instructor or skydiving from a plane for an ultimate thrill. Other great options are hot air balloon rides, which take off either an hour before sunrise or two hours before sunset to always guarantee a great view, or a 3-day formula 3000 racing school (no experience necessary)!
As temperatures sizzle, your style should do the same. From office attire, cocktail parties and beach getaways, we gathered our favorite fashion trends for Summer 2013:
Obsessed with the gorgeous pastel and accent touches on these accessories. The crocodile-print material on the clutch adds an amazing texture, and the bold jewels on the cuff bracelet adds a touch of glam.
VESTS
The vest is one of the most versatile and transitional pieces for any season. It is super easy to throw on with a dress or plain t-shirt. This is a great piece to add to your wardrobe, and the variety of styles is endless from embellishments to fringe.
SUMMER LEATHER
FEMININE SKIRTS
BBQ ATTIRE
FEMININE SKIRTS
A feminine skirt is a staple for your summer wardrobe. It can be worn with a great pair of heels and a blazer, or a crisp white blouse for the office. Whether you prefer a pencil skirt or a mini skirt, the choice is yours!
BBQ ATTIRE
POOLSIDE GETAWAY
Add a pop of color to your beach getaway. From a bright tribal print bikini, an ultra-flattering and chic sarong, to a fun versatile beach bag. Don't forget to stay safe and add a gorgeous glow with some SPF.
AT THE OFFICE
Stay chic and stylish in the summer at the office. Opt for a neutral, metallic dress that can be paired with a mix of bright accessories. Add a gold metallic pair of sandals (still appropriate, yet sexy), large sunglasses, a structured handbag (preferably pastel) and a bright gorgeous bracelet.
The theme for this year's Met Gala was "Punk: Chaos to Couture". That is exactly what the stars represented as they arrived on the red carpet. Many of them wore edgy, sleek fashions, while others we simply have no words for. While we understand that this special event requires unexpected fashions, there were some who took it too far.
BEST LOOKS OF THE NIGHT...
Anne Hathaway - Valentino
Photo: Getty / Kevin Mazur Absolutely Stunning! This was Anne's best look in a very long time, since she seemed to have missed the mark each red carpet during award season. She pulled off the "punk" theme in an effortlessly glam way with the extra touch of dying her hair blond. Jennifer Lopez - Michael Kors |

Jennifer Lopez can do no wrong. She looks beyond sexy and sophisticated in a slinky, sequined Michael Kors leopard gown. Although her look doesnt necessarily scream "punk", she certainly added that extra element with her faux hawk hair-do.
Cara Delevigne - Burberry
Image: Celebuzz |
Blake is never one to disappoint on the red carpet. We were in love with her entire look, however if she opted for a bold necklace rather than earrings she would have been able to pull together the ensemble with a more of an edge.
Minka Kelly - Carolina Herrera

Minka looked gorgeous in this plum laced Carolina Herrera gown. Her dark lips and studded collar and shoulders added a touch of edginess. However, we would have like to seen a metal belt around her waist instead.
Nicole Richie - Topshop

Nicole is never one to shy away from taking a fashion risk. She happened to look great in this Topshop gown (which we rarely see on the red carpet). The dress fit her body like a glove and was perfectly hemmed, while her dyed gray hair added the "punk" factor.
Jessica Alba - Tory Burch

Although Jessica did not totally fit in with the theme of the event, we couldn't help but get over how great she looked. We wish she would have taken it to the next level by shortening the dress, maybe adding some feathers to the bottom and some bold earrings. Otherwise, we give her a B+ overall.
Rooney Mara - Givenchy Haute Couture

Always one to dress with an edge, Rooney stunned in this white lace Givenchy Haute Couture gown with her dark lips and slick ponytail. We would have loved to see a great, chunky necklace to complete this look.
Taylor Swift - J Mendel

We are happy to see Taylor taking a walk on the wild side. Very goth, yet hot...we approve. |
ALMOST THERE, BUT NOT QUITE...
Miranda Kerr - Michael Kors
Image: Getty |
We can't say that Miranda doesn't look drop dead gorgeous, but she certainly could have went the extra mile to work the event's theme into her appearance. She almost took a risk by adding the spiked Louboutin clutch, but that wasn't enough.
Giselle Bundchen - Anthony Vaccarello

|
Another bombshell, who is nearly perfect, but we are soley basing our opinion on the "punk" theme. Giselle should have rocked a pair of knee high boots, a dark lip and a more shocking hairstyle (instead of her usual perfectly touseled waves).
Sarah Jessica Parker -
Giles Deacon gown & Philip Tracy headpiece

SJP is always one to watch on the red carpet, as she is always fashion-forward. Her over-the-top head piece and plaid Christian Louboutin boots made a very "punk" statement, but the rest of the look doesn't make sense.
Stacy Keibler - Rachel Roy
Image: Getty |
Kind of disappointed with Stacy's fashion choice for this event. Her body is too amazing to be wearing this dress - it does not flatter her figure at all. Also, we would have loved to see her hair up and some smokey eyes or a dark lip. This dress would have suited Miley Cyrus better.
Miley Cyrus - Marc Jacobs
Image: Kevin Mazur/WireImage
|
Miley definitely took the punk route, almost becoming a spitting image of Billy Idol. However, at her age, we would have loved to see her wearing something less covered up, such as Stacy Keibler's dress. The spiky hairdo is a bit extreme, we would have loved to see a slicker style.
Katie Holmes - Calvin Klein
Image: Getty |
Katie chose a very feminine, airy dress which does not fit the theme of the gala. She tried to rock an edgier hairdo but it did not do the trick. Although, she does look great, she should have steered away from the goddess-like look.
WHAT WERE THEY THINKING?
Madonna - GivenchyImage: Getty |
Understandably, it's Madonna, so we weren't completely shocked with her outfit choice. However, it is absolutely not age appropriate and should have been worn on someone half her age. This was one of our worst-dressed picks.
Gwyneth Paltrow - Valentino Couture
Image: Getty |
This gown certainly does not scream "punk". Totally surprised at her fashion choice, especially because she is usually dressed to perfection. It does nothing for her figure and she is way too covered up. The least she could have done was added a spiked Christian Louboutin clutch, but we still don't think that would have helped much...
Ginnifer Goodwin - Tory Burch
Image: Getty |
HORRIBLE! We absolutely hated everything going on with Ginnifer's look - from her eyebrows, eyeshadow and her cheesy dress. We are big fans of Ginnifer, but she lost us on this one...
Katy Perry - Dolce & Gabanna

NO WORDS!!!!!
Kim Kardashian - Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci
Kerry Washington - Vera Wang

Mazur
|
Did not understand what was going on with this ensemble - it was a bit all over the place. It could have been a hit if the bottom half was tighter, shorter and leather.
Beyonce - Givenchy
Image: Getty |
Beyonce did a 180 from last year's Met Gala. This dress was way too cheesy, the top half was punk, while the bottom looked too "Versace" and the matching boots and random belt did not help.
